Statement of Faith

The Bible is our belief, and the word of God is the only rock we build on (Matthew 7:24-28). We seek to understand it, believe it, and live it, and never to go above or beyond what is written. We only embrace and advocate teachings and behaviours which are clearly taught in holy scripture, either in its pronouncements (direct teaching) or in its principles (indirect teaching). We identify as Baptists, because our beliefs and practices are most closely aligned with the teachings and lifestyles characteristic of historic Baptist churches.

Below is a summary of the foundational doctrines we, as a ministry, hold to and teach:

I. God

We believe in God, the first and greatest of all beings, who, as a Trinity of co-equal Persons, is eternal, unchangeable, all-good, all-powerful, all-knowing, all-present. We believe in Jesus Christ, the eternally-begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, fully-God and fully-man. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is divine and personal, doubly-subordinate to the Father and Son.

II. Creation

We believe that all things visible and invisible were created by and for God, perfectly and wisely, through his word.

We believe the universe is young, specially-created by God in six literal, 24-hour days, about 6,000 years ago.

We believe God created mankind in his own image, with a free will, consisting of body and spirit, as male and female, with the purpose to glorify God.

III. Sin

We believe in the fall of Satan, who, through pride, rebelled against God and his kingdom, taking a part of the angels with him.

We believe in the fall of man, where Adam and Eve sinned against God, which brought the curse of death and decay on all of nature.

We believe mankind is by nature sinful, separated from God through their own transgression, and worthy of death and hell.

IV. Salvation

We believe that Jesus lived a perfect life, died on the cross, shedding his blood for the sins of all mankind, rose again, and ascended up to heaven, where he now mediates and makes intercession for the saints.

We believe that salvation is and always has been by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, a one-time event, received by turning from unbelief and trusting in the finished work of Christ.

We believe that salvation is eternal, having been completed, promised, and secured by Christ, and that a true believer can never lose their salvation.

V. Bible

We believe the Bible is the word of God, the first and final authority in all matters of faith and practice, inspired, inerrant, and sufficient.

We believe that the 66 books of the Bible are complete, and that God communicates today exclusively, by his Spirit, through his written word.

We believe the Bible has been preserved in every word to every generation, and has been most faithfully and accurately translated into English in the King James Version.

VI. Church

We believe the church is the local assembly of believers in Christ, who gather together to further the Great Commission by worshipping, learning, fellowshipping, and serving.

We believe that Jesus is the Head and only ultimate authority of the church, and that all believers are members of his body through the Spirit.

We believe in the two symbolic ordinances of Christ's sacrifice, which are: (1) water baptism, for believers, by immersion, as a sign of faith; and (2) the Lord's supper, to be observed commemoratively, in a celebratory fashion, and corporately with local fellow believers.

VII. End Times

We believe in a literal heaven and hell, and that, at death, all people will immediately and consciously pass into the next world, believers into the comforts of heaven, and unbelievers into the torments of hell.

We believe there will be a great tribulation, after which Christ will physically return to earth in his Second Coming to judge the world and reward the saints, and to set up his physical kingdom for a millennium.

We believe in the resurrection of the dead, first of the saints at the coming of the Lord, and after for all at the day of judgment, where all the evil angels will be judged, and the unsaved will be cast into the lake of fire.
